Home destroyed in Finsbury Park this morning

Four fire engines and 20 fire fighters tackled a blaze at a house fire in Finsbury Park this morning.

Part of the basement was alight and crews worked hard for half and hour to bring the fire in Finsbury Park Road under control, just before midday.

Two people escaped the property before the fire brigade arrived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
