Young homeless people will get a roof over their heads thanks to a housing association and charity partnership.

Network Homes, based in north-west London, has struck a deal with the New Horizon youth centre to provide temporary accommodation in Homerton for the next three years.

The charity is renting two flats with four en-suite bedrooms in Clifden Road, where homeless people will be able to stay for a year.

During their stay, New Horizon will also offer them skills sessions and employment training. Nick Hardwick, New Horizon chairman, said: “A safe place to live is the crucial platform from which the young people we work with can launch their adult lives.”
