The Homerton Hospital Fun Run, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow (Saturday), has been postponed with disappointed organisers being forced to admit weekend weather forecasts predicting torrential rains and strong winds would make the event a wash-out.

The seventh annual run had been organised by Homerton Hope, the hospital’s charitable fund, to raise extra funds for the hospital in Homerton Row, with sponsored runners taking on either a 3km or a 10km course on Hackney Marshes. A hospital spokesman said a new date has yet to be set, but added the run is likely to be rescheduled for the autumn.
