Children at a top performing primary school celebrated the festive season with a Christmas fair.
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of St John the Baptist primary school in Pitfield Street, Hoxton, organised the fair to celebrate pupils’ hard work.
About 350 parents and pupils attended the after-school fair on December 13, which featured a Santa’s Grotto, hot-dogs, cakes, a tombola, a book, food and drinks raffle, hand-made Christmas decorations and games, including Pin the nose on Rudolph and throwing bean-bags through holes on a wooden Christmas tree.
Angela Large, chairman of the PTA, said: “I thought it went really well. We had lots of parents involved and staff involved. A lot of people are saying it’s the best one ever.
“It’s the first Christmas fair the PTA has taken the lead on. Kat B from Hackney Empire’s panto Puss in Boots visited, which was the highlight of the show.”
