After impressive performances in wins over Belgium and Uruguay, Hugo Lloris will look to produce one more in Sunday’s final

Only one Tottenham Hotspur player will be involved in Sunday’s World Cup final, but Hugo Lloris could become the club’s first captain to lift the trophy.

The France skipper has been inspiration for his country on their way to the final and produced key saves in wins over Belgium and Uruguay.

Heading into the semi-final games, nine players from Spurs were still involved in the competition, but only Lloris has made it through.

Now he will have the chance to become just the second captain from France to lift the World Cup.

In his way will be two players who left Spurs the summer Lloris moved to White Hart Lane in 2012.

Luka Modric has been pivotal to Croatia’s run to the final and also in their 23-man squad is Vedran Corluka.

But, after a number of excellent showings so far in Russia, Lloris will look to produce another on Sunday and help France be crowned world champions again.
