The community came together to raise a much-needed £362 for youth project The Crib at its first annual fun day.

Some 100 guests ventured to the scheme’s De Beauvoir centre in Balmes Road on Saturday for an action-packed day complete with musicians, DJs, bouncy inflatables, food and drink and sporting activities.

The event was set up to raise money for the youth programme amid funding cuts, and also involved London Youth and the Enough is Enough campaign to stamp out knife crime.

The Crib’s Tracy Prescott said: “It went really well, we were happy with it. We’re going to do it again next year.

“We had lots of young talent there, a few grime artists and a DJ. There were loads of different kinds of people coming down.”
