Erik Lamela (hip) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are not the only two Tottenham Hotspur players not fully fit

Tottenham Hotspur will hope to have all their big guns available for their clash with Arsenal on Saturday week after seeing several players pull out of their respective international squads in recent days.

A hamstring injury forced Dele Alli to miss Spurs’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday and as a result, he wasn’t selected by England boss Gareth Southgate.

Hugo Lloris was also absent against the Eagles with a groin strain and a hamstring problem forced Toby Alderweireld to miss the match.

Since then, Harry Kane (hamstring) and Harry Winks (ankle) have pulled out of the England squad due to injuries they suffered at Wembley Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino will hope to have all five players available for selection when Spurs make the short trip to the Emirates on November 18 for a 12.30pm kick-off.

When quizzed about Alli following the win over Palace, Pochettino said: “Against Manchester United, when he finished the game, he felt (something) in his tendon, in his posterior muscle, close to his hamstring.

“Then he played 90 minutes against Real Madrid, but it’s a very, very small thing. It was a massive risk today to play.

“We think and we are sure he will be ready for Arsenal. We hope that it’s all going well in the next few weeks and he can be available.”

Another injury concern for Tottenham is Michel Vorm, who would have started on Sunday had he been fit.

The former Swansea City goalkeeper twisted his knee the day before the Palace clash and therefore had to watch Paulo Gazzaniga given a chance and keep a clean sheet.

Pochettino explained how Tottenham had to make a late decision about who was to start in goal.

He added: “On Saturday afternoon Michel twisted in an action, so he has an issue with his knee.

“We waited until the morning of the Crystal Palace game, but his knee was still a little bit swollen.

“We trained at 4 o’clock and it looked in that moment like it wasn’t a big issue, but on Sunday morning it was swollen and of course he wasn’t able to be involved.”

The international break has come at a good time for Spurs and should allow them time to get all their big guns back.

But if not all of them can return, Pochettino will hope Tottenham’s squad depth will enable them to continue their title challenge.
