Toddlers came out in their droves for a ‘sponsored toddle’ for Barnardo’s children’s charity in the bright sunshine.
One little three-year-old was so eager to get going that she shouted “ready, steady, go!” before the organisers were ready to go.
She was one of 150 under-fives who turned up outside Bethnal Green’s Museum of Childhood in the sunshine yesterday for Barnardo’s annual Big Toddle.
Up to half-a-million kids are taking part in toddling events up and down the country through the summer.
The charity, which runs children’s centres throughout Britain, raised 1.3 million last year, including 2,500 at Bethnal Green alone. The toddlers hope to top that this time.
