Children at Kingsmead School enjoyed a Jubilee celebration eating traditional street party food in the garden, dancing to hits from 1952 wearing homemade crowns.
The youngster at the school in Kingsmead Way ate cucumber sandwiches and strawberries and cream, and the party featured a special appearance by ‘the queen and prince Phillip.’
“We enjoyed a sunny afternoon with plenty of bunting and the parents came and joined in too,” said headteacher Louise Nichols.
“There was plenty of jubilee cake and it was a great celebration of 60 years and it helped the children to understand the role of the royal family.”
