A community fun day to raise awareness of knife crime has been organised by the mother of Charlie Burns, who was stabbed to death two years ago.

The event which will include a raffle, games and a barbeque takes place in Kingshold Community Hall in Ainsworth Road, South Hackney, this Saturday from noon to 5pm.

There will also be a street party in nearby Primrose Square.

Keeley Burns, who founded the Charlie Burns Foundation in memory of her son, said: “We don’t want another family to go though what we have as a family and community.

“It leaves a big hole in your heart that doesn’t go away.”
