Hackney has two new Labour councillors after the party won the Hackney Downs and Stoke Newington ward by-elections.

Cllr Patrick Moule received 3,242 of the 5,262 votes in a 63 per cent turnout at Stoke Newington, while Cllr Sem Moema won 2,614 of a possible 4,506 in a 58pc turnout at Hackney Downs.

They replace outgoing Labour councillors Rick Muir and Louisa Johnson.
