Crouch End artist exhibits powerful charcoal and pastel drawings at Espacio Gallery in Shoreditch
Crouch End artist Laura Lehman-Kochan stages an exhibition of powerful charcoal and pastel drawings at Shoreditch's Espacio Gallery this month.
The Human Comedy shows the range and quality of the American-born artist's imagination.
"I love a fluent, beautiful mark," says Laura, who regularly practices life drawing in her Crouch End sitting room and occasionally teaches. "A mark should not be laboured, it is like a poet having the words tumble out of his head. There needs to be a magic touch or spark, but you need to know when to stop and not overdo it."
The exhibition runs at the gallery in Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch until Nov 24.
