Actor wants people of London to know the truth behind the bust-up which left the pair nursing injuries.

Brit actor Tamer Hassan broke his vow of silence coming to blows with tough-nut Vinnie Jones last year, saying it was time for people to know the truth.

Tamer who appeared in Layer Cake with Daniel Craig, and The Calcium Kid with Orlando Bloom, spilt the beans when he came to dine in Stoke Newington High Street’s Thai restaurant Yum Yum last week.

The 43-year-old Turkish-Cypriot said: “I’ve been offered thousands for the exclusive on the Vinnie scenario, but I am not interested. That’s not the man I am.”

The former amateur-boxer said the brawl, in LA’s Sunset Boulevard hotel Chateau Marmont, was “an unfortunate misunderstanding,” and that he and Vinnie made up on the set of Blood Out, where they began filming the following week.

“You know what it was, it was handbags at dawn,” he said.

“It wasn’t something we should do as friends, something we should do as men, as husbands, as fathers, it’s an example we set,” he said.

“I just want to put this across to people that when things like that happen it’s not the two idiots that are fighting, it’s the people around them, because my wife is friends with his wife, that breaks down, my son was friends with his son, that might break down, my son adored him as a footballer, that breaks down.

“It was a little shove and a push, it got a little bit ugly, me and Vinnie are friends and that’s the end of it.”

Hassan has worked on lots of films since moving to LA a year ago, but is most excited about the release of Russian spy movie The Double in which he co-stars with Hollywood legends Martin Sheen and Richard Gere.

In the movie, he plays his favourite role – the villain.

“People don’t want to see me in the romantic lead, they want to see me playing the psychopath,” he said.

“I try and give something different to each villain and I know that role – I know that role from my background where I grew up,” added Hassan who grew up in New Cross, South London.

“The villain is the most interesting part, the villain gets to shoot the guns, the villain gets to drive the cars, I do a lot of my own stunts, insurance pending.”
