Campaigners fighting the building of two new homes on their London Fields estate will let their feelings be known at a council meeting.

The Morland Blanchard Tenants’ and Residents’ Association have been battling against plans from developer London Fields West LLP since it bought the land from the council in controversial circumstances at a 2013 auction.

People living on the Morland Estate wanted the land for a community garden, and have already seen off one planning application for the site over the planned four-and-a-half storey height.

Now council planners have recommended a revised proposal be approved, and the TRA will be heading to the committee meeting on Wednesday to have their say.

They said: “At the time of the auction the council itself said the land was suitable for a single dwelling, not a three-storey block. The TRA is also concerned about inevitable disruption.”
