Several hundred people of all ages flocked to a church’s Christmas fete.
People from all parts of the community attended the event at St Michael and All Angels Church in Lansdowne Drive in London Fields.
Adults enjoyed home-made cakes and jams, clothes, and a variety of Christmas gifts. Children were enraptured at finding the church transformed into a fun space for them with a Santa’s Grotto, a bouncy castle, table-tennis and lots of other games. There was also a tombola and raffle.
Rev Daniel Gerrans, vicar of the church, said: “St Michael’s annual Christmas Fete is a well-established annual event in London Fields which everyone in the community enjoys. This year’s was no exception.
“We had a great day and were delighted that it raised over £2,500 for church funds, a record amount. I am very grateful to everyone who supported the event.”
