Comedian Rob Deering completed his fourth London Marathon on Sunday raising more than £5,000 for Parkinson’s UK as a part of Parkinson’s Awareness Week.
The Hackney based comic finished the race in a swift 3 hours and 32 minutes and afterwards spoke of the personal pain the disease has caused him and his family.
He said: “My dad has been living with Parkinson’s for more than 15 years and is now not well enough to come to my gigs, but he still inspires me in everything I do, from comedy, running and quizzes, to raising awareness and funds for Parkinson’s UK.”
Mr Deering will be continuing his work fighting against Parkinson’s disease when he host the Shake with Laughter charity event, which is being held on Monday October 17th at the London comedy store.
Tickets cost £15 and can be bought at parkinsons.org.uk/content/shake-laughter or call 020 7963 3914.
