A woman will run her first marathon to mark the 10th anniversary of her mother’s death from lung cancer.

Pamela Jackson, 29, of Hackney, wanted to bring her family together to mark the sombre occasion and is raising money for the British Lung Foundation (BLF).

Her mum battled cancer for 14 months before losing her fight aged 52. Pamela’s brother Stuart ran the Vitality half marathon last month, and now she is hoping to raise £3,500 through the London Marathon.

“Our mum was an incredible woman and we miss her every day,” she said. “I want the BLF to have the money to raise awareness and fight against lung disease.”
