Lower Clapton Road crash: 21-year-old in hospital and road closed after collision

A young man is in hospital after being hit by a car in Lower Clapton Road this afternoon.

Police were called to the scene, near Clapton Pond, just before 1.30pm. The 21-year-old’s condition is not known, though Scotland Yard said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Officers taped off the road while they investigated the crash, and urged drivers to use other routes.
