The Brazilian won a huge amount of trophies during his time at Paris Saint-Germain and he believes he can win more silverware with Tottenham Hotspur

Lucas Moura revealed his desire to win the Champions League with Tottenham Hotspur after making his full debut for the club on Sunday and despite some opposition supporters ridiculing the Brazilian, it is a refreshing attitude to have.

The 25-year-old impressed during the 2-2 draw at Rochdale in the fifth round of the FA Cup last weekend.

Moura netted his first goal for Spurs at Spotland Stadium, after making his debut off the bench at Juventus in the Champions League a few days earlier.

When asked if Tottenham could progress past the Italian giants and try to win the whole competition, Moura replied: “Why not?

“The Champions League is the most difficult cup (to win), but I think we have the capacity to win if we always think positive, always work hard.

“We did a big game against Juventus away. It’s not easy to score in Italy. I think we had a good result and the next game I am sure that we can win, that we can do a big game with our fans and to continue.

“I am 25-years-old, but I won a lot of experience with PSG and I can help Tottenham and I think we have a lot of quality, big players, great structure, and I think we can arrive at the end of the season with a trophy.

“It’s always important to win. Every player wants to win trophies and to make history and I am here to make history with my new friends, my new team-mates, and I believe (we can do) that. I think we can dream with the Champions League.”

Given footballers often get criticised for bland replies to questions from the media, it is fantastic to see Moura give such a confident answer and it can only be a positive for Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino has pushed for the club to dream big and look to win titles such as the Premier League and Champions League rather than be content with a League Cup or FA Cup win.

There is no doubt the Tottenham manager would love to win one of the the domestic cup competitions, but his ultimate aim would be to help Spurs secure a major trophy like the league title or European Cup.

Judging his first start on Sunday, it seems Moura will help the Lilywhites try to finish the current campaign with silverware.

Even though the Brazilian was up against League One opposition, his work-rate, desire, movement and execution caught the eye.

With Moura now revealing his own big ambitions for the club, everything points towards an exciting end to the season for both the speed merchant and Spurs as they battle for honours on various different fronts.
