Youngsters came face to face with majestic birds of prey on Saturday in Dalston’s “green oasis”.

A Harris Hawk, a Bengal Eagle Owl, a Turkey Vulture, a Falcon and a Buzzard flew up and down the garden Eastern Curve Garden showing off their aerial skills.

Dalston resident, Amanda Lwin, who organised the event with bird handlers from Hawk on the Wild Side said: “There’s nothing like seeing these majestic birds of prey in real life and it’s not an experience that you get often enough in an built-up area like Dalston.

“The Eastern Curve Garden is an unexpected green oasis next to the town centre and so it was great to bring a bit more of the countryside into the city, even just for a few hours.”
