Man, 41, dies after being hit by bus in Stamford Hill

A man was killed after being hit by a 253 bus on Friday night.

Police were called to Clapton Common at the junction with Stamford Hill at about 7.30pm.

Medics and officers attended but the pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers believe they know the identity of the deceased but next of kin have not been informed.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests. Inquiries into the circumstances of the collision are being carried out by officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command.
