A man is in hospital after being hit by a moped in Great Eastern Street yesterday evening.
Police and medics, including the air ambulance, were called at 5.20pm to the scene and the pedestrian was taken to hospital with leg injuries. Scotland Yard said the injuries are serious but are not life-threatening.
The moped rider was also treated for minor injuries. No arrests have been made and police are still making enquiries. The road was taped off between Old Street and Curtain Road while the situation was dealt with.
A fight also broke out nearby and a witness reported seeing people jumping on cars in Charlotte Road. Scotland Yard said officers were informed about the incident but no arrests were made.
