Firefighters carried out a dramatic rescue operation after a man collapsed in the cab of a crane 100 feet up in the air this morning (Wednesday).
Crews from Kingsland fire station – and rescue units from Bethnal Green and Clerkenwell – rushed to the building site in Hertford Road, Haggerston, just after 9.10am.
A London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said: “The crews used rope lines and other specialist rescue equipment to move the casualty from one crane to an adjacent crane and lower him down to the ground floor.
“The man was treated by staff from London’s Air Ambulance and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.”
