A Hackney store is celebrating 100 years of trading on Saturday with a special event for customers.
Marks and Spencer in Mare Street will be marking the occasion with a range of activities and entertainment, including food tastings, live music, a pearly queen, face painting sessions, a puppeteer and a magician.
The 100th shopper in the store on the day will receive a complimentary bottle of M&S champagne.
Jude Wight-Nayar, store manager, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Hackney’s shoppers into the store on the day to celebrate this important milestone with us.
“M&S Hackney may have moved units from when we were a penny bazaar 100 years ago, but we are one of the longest standing retailers on the high street and very proud of that fact.”
