The Argentinian secured his 100th Premier League win as Spurs boss on Saturday
Mauricio Pochettino shared out the praise following his 100th Premier League win as Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Christian Eriksen’s stoppage time strike saw off Burnley in wet and cold conditions at Wembley Stadium as Spurs secured a 1-0 victory, which kept them in third spot.
After the game, Pochettino was asked about his milestone and paid tribute to assistant Jesus Perez, goalkeeper coach Toni Jimenez and first-team coach Miguel D’Agostino.
He told Press Association Sport: “Jesus told me before the game they didn’t want to tell me because it’s a superstition. But now I know.
“We did not realise, but it’s a fantastic achievement for us collectively.”
Spurs thoroughly deserved all three points on Saturday after dominating large parts of the Clarets clash.
Lucas Moura volleyed wide in the first half while Harry Kane also had penalty appeals waved away before Moussa Sissoko teed up Erk Lamela, but he was denied by Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart.
It remained goalless at the break and Tottenham fans would have been forgiven for thinking it would be one of those days.
Lamela was again denied by Hart and Heung-min Son saw a shot go wide after a fine lay-off by Fernando Llorente.
Eventually a breakthrough arrived in the first minute of stoppage time and super-sub Eriksen provided it.
After recently netting a late winner against Inter Milan in the Champions League, the Dane was at it again.
He controlled Kane’s pass and glided a shot past Hart into the roof of the net to send Wembley into raptures.
“We are there and that is the reality, that after 17 games and 39 points we are third,” said Pochettino. “That is a massive achievement.
“We are there now, but everything is possible. Look what happened in the Champions League: after three games only one point and we believed it was possible and in the end we believed and now are in the next stage.
“There are a lot of things you need to put into consideration, but the most important thing is belief and faith in the way you work and if you give 100 per cent all can happen.”
