National Apprenticeship Week: Discover opportunities in Hackney at the Jobcentre this week

Hackney Jobcentre will host a series of sessions from employers every day this week about upcoming vacancies and opportunities to mark annual National Apprenticeship Week.
Hackney Jobcentre will host a series of sessions from employers every day this week about upcoming vacancies and opportunities to mark annual National Apprenticeship Week.
Cllr Guy Nicholson, cabinet member for regeneration launched the event which celebrates apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.
Organiser Julius Amoah said: “This is a chance to shine a positive light following negative press regarding high youth unemployment.”
A recent study by trade union Unison has shown that over 20 people are applying for every job advertised in Hackney’s job centre – five times above the national average of four.

The figure is is the second highest in the country, coming only after the Isle of Wight where 24 job seekers apply per vacancy.
