Louis Theroux has taken the fight to alopecia and followed through with the plan to shave his eyebrows off.

Earlier this year the broadcaster told his followers he "probably" has alopecia after sharing that he has experienced hair loss in his beard.

In an Instagram post last month, Theroux shared a series of photos highlighting how his facial hair has changed in recent months.

In the accompanying caption, he told his 763,000 followers: "So this is what my beard grows like now due to what I think is probably alopecia. Basically I get a little triangle of stubble around my mouth and some more at the sides."

Today, Theroux posted on Instagram: "Can you tell what’s different? I’ve shaved off my eyebrows! I’m also thinking about getting micro blading soon.

"In the meanwhile I figure no eyebrows is better than patchy eyebrows. Do you agree? #alopecia #nobrows #nobrowsnoproblems".

The 53-year-old documentary maker shared on the same platform how the condition appears to be impacting his eyebrows.

"I'd like to know how I'm supposed to continue a career based largely on raising and lowering different eyebrows WITHOUT ANY EYEBROWS!!" he wrote on Instagram, alongside some images of his hair-less eyebrows," he said at the time.

"I’m seriously thinking of getting them tattooed back on but it feels like a big step! Thoughts?"

Well, now it seems that Theroux has followed through with his plans, perhaps we can expect to see tattooed eyebrows soon?

Users in the comments flooded him with congratulations and wished the presenter well.

"Personally I'd look like a thumb if I did that but for some reason your face doesn't seems to naturally draw a path where things shoulda been. More power to you Louis!" someone said.

Annie Mac replied: "Microblading babes, you’ll never look back".

Presenter Rylan cheekily said: "Blink twice if u need assistance".
