A section of the London Overground network will run around-the-clock on Fridays and Saturdays from next month.

The all-night service will operate between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction from December 15.

Stops on the “orange line” will include Haggerston, Hoxton, Shoreditch High Street, Shadwell, Wapping, Canada Water and Surrey Quays, with connections to the 24-hour Jubilee line Tube service at Canada Water.

Whitechapel will not be included in the all-night service until the completion of Crossrail construction work next summer.

London mayor Sadiq Khan said: “The night tube has proven such a success with Londoners, I know the night Overground will help thousands more who are working through the night or out enjoying our capital’s nightlife. The Overground has transformed travel across the capital in the last 10 years, opening up areas of London.”
