While a blanket of snow brought wintery fun to many families this weekend, the freezing weather has left three schools closed today and ongoing problems on the transport system.

The treacherous road conditions caused some bus routes to be delayed this morning and the Overground line serving stations serving Dalston, Haggerston, Hoxton and Shoreditch also experienced problems.

Meanwhile three of the borough’s schools decided to close today – Simon Marks Jewish Primary School in Cazenove Road, Stoke Newington and St Dominics Roman Catholic Primary School in Balance Road, Homerton as well as the secondary school, Skinners’ Academy in Woodberry Grove, Woodberry Down.

Meanwhile Cardinal Pole secondary school in Morning Lane, Hackney Central is only open to years 10, 11, 12 and 13.
