Mauricio Pochettino says he is enjoying the best time of his managerial career as he prepares to take Tottenham to Manchester City for a title showdown on Sunday.

Spurs’ head coach is thought to have attracted interest from rival clubs, including Manchester United, due to his impact at White Hart Lane.

But, while he remains tight-lipped on such reports – maintaining a policy of never commenting on rumours or speculation – he says he is loving life in north London.

Asked whether he is currently enjoying the best time of his managerial career, Pochettino replied: “Maybe yes. I am honest – maybe yes.”

The Premier League’s top four teams go head to head on Sunday, with leaders Leicester visiting Arsenal before second-placed Spurs take on Man City at the Etihad.

It promises to be a key date in the title race but Pochettino has stressed that nothing will be decided this weekend.

“For me, every game is very important because to arrive at the end in the position where we are now, or to improve our position, you need to win games – but it’s not decisive,” he said.

“It’s important, very important, but it’s not the last game where you need to achieve something or not after the 90 minutes. But we know and they know that we’re in a position where there are 13 games ahead, and after this game it’s 12 and we go into the more important period of the league.”

Meanwhile, Pochettino has revealed that six Tottenham players attended an England team meeting with Roy Hodgson yesterday at the FA’s training base at St George’s Park - Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Ryan Mason and Harry Kane.

The Spurs boss has also had his say on ticket pricing in the Premier League after thousands of Liverpool fans staged a successful walkout during their home game against Sunderland on Saturday, protesting against plans to introduce a £77 match ticket and Anfield’s first £1,000 season ticket.

“It’s a good point because we come from Spain - empty stadiums - and our feeling is to keep the full stadiums,” said Pochettino. “I think the supporters are very important and I think Tottenham are very sensible about that.”
