A group of five lucky students from Hackney and Tower Hamlets were given the chance to meet and question President Obama on Saturday at Westminster Town hall.

The opportunity was provided by ReachOut, a one to one mentoring company for disadvantaged children, who believe Mr Obama is the perfect role model for the children they work with to look up to.

“Obama is a living example of how ambition and determination can help you overcome the circumstances of your birth, and that you can rise to the very top of your field,” said Peter Blackwell, CEO of ReachOut.

“That’s an inspiring message for young people we support to take away,” he added.

One of the youngsters that ReachOut supports, Tionne Tulluch-May, a year 13 from The Petchey Academy, said “I see him on TV everyday so to actually meet him in real life is like something out of a movie.”
