Concorde Youth club members were given a night to remember when the rapper and poet Akala came to speak to them about the history of hip-hop.
The younger brother of Ms Dynamite posted pictures of himself and the 150 attendees on his Instagram page.
Youth worker Joyclen Brodie-Mends said: “Young and older people were completely engaged and hanging on to Akala’s every last word.
“He encouraged listeners to think about ‘what more can I do to better myself and the community I live in’.
Kingslee James Daley’s stagename Akala is a Buddhist word for “immovable”. He was voted the Best Hip Hop Act at the MOBO Awards in 2006.
