Tottenham Hotspur have snapped up the talented left-footer after tracking the teenager for a number of years

Ryan Sessegnon's protracted move from Fulham to Tottenham Hotspur has finally been completed this afternoon, not long after the Premier League and Championship transfer window officially shut.

The versatile Whites academy graduate has attracted interest since his debut as a 16-year-old at Leyton Orient in the League Cup three years ago.

A quick and expected progression saw him promoted into Fulham's first-team by the end of the 2016/17 campaign and he made 30 appearances in all competitions during the term.

The following season went even better with Sessengnon inspiring the Londoners to a memorable promotion, scoring 16 times along the way.

It was at this point when Spurs were heavily linked with the left-back, who is adept higher up the pitch, but no move materialised last summer.

Sessengnon therefore remained at Fulham and got his first taste of Premier League football at Craven Cottage, although struggled to make an impact as a left-side player in midfield and sometimes attack.

He scored twice in the top flight, but this feels the right time for the teenager - who also has a highly-rated younger brother called Steven - to make a transfer to one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Mauricio Pochettino has admired Sessengnon for a long time and the England youth international looks the long-term replacement for Danny Rose, who could still depart Tottenham before the European transfer window shuts in a few weeks time.

As for the new Spurs player, he has agreed a six-year contract with the transfer fee reported to be £25 million.

Going in the other direction is academy graduate Josh Onomah, who moves across the capital in search of regular first-team football.

The Londoner, 22, spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and will now ply his trade at Fulham.
