A 99-year old who was awarded for her work running a club for the elderly in Hackney celebrated her birthday with her community centre chums.

Cissy Brine, who has run Sanctuary Housing’s Morningside Community Centre over 50s club since October 2012, celebrated with a fish ‘n’ chips lunch, bingo, music and lots of laughter.

Mrs Brine won a special award for her work at Sanctuary’s recent Hackney Community Awards.
