Two Hackney adventure playgrounds have been named among the best five in London.
Hackney Marsh adventure playground in Daubney Fields off Kingsmead Way, Homerton, picked up the ‘most innovative’ award at London Play’s Adventure Playground of the Year awards for its creative equipment.
Meanwhile Shakespeare Walk playground in Stoke Newington scooped the ‘most open’ honours, for being extra welcoming and inviting children’s ideas.
Baden Powell Primary School, in Clapton, was runner-up in the ‘best playground in a school’ category.
Children who use the playgrounds had made short films with Young Hackney council officers about why they though their local playground is the best to enter the competition.
