Passers-by were offered free pancakes as part of celebrations for Shrove Tuesday.
Hundreds of complimentary pancakes drizzled with a variety of tasty toppings were offered at food stalls and trucks in Phipp Street, Shoreditch, in a festival organised by Lyle’s Golden Syrup.
Festival-goers were treated to expert cookery demonstrations and given other delicious goodies to take away throughout Tuesday.
Alex Sophos, of Shoreditch, said: “I had read that Lyle’s had renamed Phipp Streetas Flip Street for Pancake Day but I didn’t realise they were going to be giving away free pancakes all day. I flippin’ love Hackney.”
