Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping Tottenham Hotspur can start to bridge a gap between themselves and the clubs outside of the top four

Huddersfield Town are the latest team to visit Wembley Stadium on Saturday and it is the start of a big week for Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs entertain the Terriers in the Premier League looking to stay on track for a top-four finish after moving into the Champions League places last weekend.

After Mauricio Pochettino goes head-to-head with David Wagner, the Lilywhites will play host to Juventus on Wednesday (March 7) to decide who makes the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Before all this, Tottenham hosted Rochdale in an FA Cup fifth-round replay on Wednesday night and triumphed 6-1 in controversial circumstances under the arch.

Spurs recently came through a crunch period with flying colours and the next task is to ensure they do not take their foot off the gas.

It took an 88th minute winner at Crystal Palace last Sunday to make sure Tottenham moved up to fourth in the table.

Now Pochettino’s team are in the top-four again, he will hope for them to build a gap between themselves and the chasing pack and Saturday is another chance to do just that.

After Spurs have faced Town, they can sit back and watch how Arsenal fare at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday while hours later and Antonio Conte’s Chelsea will do battle with Manchester City at the Etihad.

Man United then visit Palace on Monday, so another victory at the weekend over Huddersfield is vitally important for Tottenham.

Wagner’s Terriers will not be pushovers, though, as they have enjoyed a slight upturn in results over the last month.

Town have put up brave fights during league and FA Cup clashes with United, losing 2-0 on both occasions, and also impressed in victories over West Bromwich Albion, AFC Bournemouth and Birmingham City.

Spurs will hope to have Jan Vertonghen back after an ankle injury ruled him out of the 1-0 win over Palace and continue their strong Wembley form.

Juventus will then make the trip to England with the last-16 tie in the balance after a 2-2 draw from the first leg.

Tottenham’s two away goals make them favourites to progress, but the Old Lady’s history in the competition can’t be discounted.

Massimiliano Allegri’s team haven’t lost since November 19, but the good thing for Spurs is a 0-0 or 1-1 draw will be enough to progress. Another big night at Wembley is on the horizon.
