Tottenham have been dealt an injury blow ahead of their Europa League clash with Fiorentina on Thursday after goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris was ruled out with a shoulder injury.
The Frenchman started every game in the group stage but will miss the first leg of the last-32 tie in Italy.
It is hoped he will be able to return for the home leg next Thursday but Michel Vorm is expected to deputise tomorrow and then face Crystal Palace in Sunday’s FA Cup tie – which he probably would have done anyway since he has been the usual choice for domestic cup matches.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: “Bad news - in the last action against Manchester City, Hugo got a knock on his shoulder and is out for tomorrow and maybe out for Sunday. We’ll see next week if he’s available to play the second leg against Fiorentina.”
