Tottenham Ladies 4 West Ham Ladies 0

Spurs Ladies prevailed over rivals West Ham United on the club’s main stage, White Hart Lane, to clinch the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division title and cap a ground-breaking night for the Lilywhites.

Lucia Leon’s run won an early free-kick, which Jenna Schillaci floated to the back post for Renee Hector to reach, but head onto the roof of the net.

And another Schillaci inswinging curler from the right came within inches of being headed home by Wendy Martin, forcing Lottie Ivison to punch clear.

Kelley Blanchflower cut in from the left and found Bianca Baptiste, who fired across the face of goal, out of the reach of Martin.

But West Ham’s Hannah Wheeler played a smart pass through the middle to Chloe Burr, who took aim from 20 yards before Toni-Anne Wayne collected on the second attempt.

Tottenham’s Leah Rawle bombed up the left and passed inside to Martin who powered a sublime effort off the post.

And Rawle then hustled for possession and dinked a teasing cross across goal which Baptiste, followed by Blanchflower on the stretch, couldn’t turn in.

A spectacular opening goal eventually arrived on 22 minutes as Sophie Mclean zipped a pass to Josie Green, who ran forward and fired towards the top corner from 25 yards past Ivison.

Baptiste’s deep cross for Martin was then punched away only as far as Leon, who looked to sidefoot into the opposite corner, but Ivison did well to get down low and make the save.

Ivison just managed to pat down Baptiste’s thunderbolt towards the top right corner after cutting inside as Spurs continued to press and Martin shimmied down the left before playing Blanchflower who could not beat Ivison.

Renee Hector then picked out Baptiste, who skipped past Jasmine Auguste and looked to the near post for Martin, but Wheeler came across to hook clear.

It was more of the same in the second half, as Riana Soobadoo sprayed a pass to Mclean, swhohe played the ball inside to Blanchflower to slip Martin through, only for Wheeler to remain stern and guide her away.

Baptiste’s pass was inches ahead of Martin on the stretch, but with 56 minutes played, it was 2-0 as Green found Baptiste on the right flank with a delightful switch, and she played the ball across to Martin to skilfully flick home.

Schillaci curled a pass towards the onrushing Nikita Whinnett, who couldn’t find the target, but moments later, Martin slipped in the overlapping Whinnett to curl inside the near post for a 3-0 lead with 20 minutes left to play.

And Spurs rounded off their tally six minutes from time when Whinnett won possession and found Maya Vio, who played in Baptiste for an emphatic finish.

There could have been more goals as Whinnett burst forward, dinked the ball to Martin for Brown to clear only as far as Vio, whose lob was caught by Ivison.

And Baptiste then strode through on goal, with Ivison palming her shot into the path of Martin, who was denied a second after Wheeler cleared her effort off the line.
