Former Tottenham Hotspur footballers showed their skills in the sunshine last Sunday to raise awareness of mental illness.
Midfielder Gary Brooke, striker Mark Falco and centre back Paul Miller were amongst players on the Spurs Legends team at the Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) Sports Charity fun day. They joined PMA Football League players in a bid to challenge the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Garry Brooke said: “A very good day was had by all and we hope it raised the profile of the cause involved.
“We always try and do whatever we can to help where possible. It was a fantastic day.”
A fun run, old fashioned sports day and skills session with the players rounded off the day.
PMA founder and Chief Executive, Janett Hynes MBE, said: “They are all football icons of the past and great role models. We are hoping that the day will help us highlight the service and that the general public will realise that mental health can strike anyone at anytime.”
PMA uses sport to aid the recovery people living with long-term mental health problems.
