Carving pumpkins is so last year – that was the message at George Lammiman’s spooky Halloween bash in Stoke Newington last night.

The Oldfield Road schoolboy, 13, worked with friends and family to rig up terrifying video projections onto a row of pumpkins, allowing the faces to laugh and contort.

It was the star attraction at a party that also included a talking “Jigsaw” inspired by the horror film Saw, a creepy “cemetery” sign over the house, and of course some amazing costumes.

George, who goes to Stoke Newington School and Sixth Form, has been working on the project for weeks.

“It’s near enough Winston Road,” proud mum Sally Freestone told the Gazette, “where most stories have emanated in recent years, like the flash mob Thriller last year.”

Winston Road may have to up its game next year.
