Stoke Newington filmmaker Asif Kapadia picked up the Best Documentary Feature Oscar last night for Amy.
The film, which documents the troubled life of singer Amy Winehouse, saw off competiton from Cartel Land, The Look of Silence, What Happened, Miss Simone? and Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom.
It was Kapadia’s first Oscar, after winning two Baftas for his previous documentary Senna in 2011.
