A deli worker from Dalston is set to play on the same bill as rock giants The Who at a major summer music festival.
Singer and guitarist Chris Aliano, 24, of Malvern Road, won a talent competition to perform in front of 40,000 people at the Benicassim festival in southern Spain.
The July festival, run by music promoter Vince Power, attracts thousands of Brits to its all-night beach parties and top music acts.
This year's headliners include The Arctic Monkeys, and Iggy Pop, newly-reunited with the legendary Stooges.
Chris beat off stiff competition to win The Road to Benicassim, a competition run by Power's nephew, Jack.
"Winning was like nothing I have ever experienced," said Chris. "I was lifted up by my friends and they were all going mad. I probably won't experience something like that ever again."
Worcestershire-born Chris moved to Hackney 18 months ago to try and secure a job in television.
He is a Nottingham University graduate and found work at the Food Hall in Old Street, Shoreditch.
He is not yet signed to a record contract and has played gigs at music venues across Hackney, including The Old Ship in Mare Street and The Spread Eagle in Kingsland Road, Shoreditch.
He describes his music as indie-folk and cites Bert Jansch, Bob Dylan and Neil Young as major influences.
By winning the competition, Chris won tickets to the festival for himself and three mates, accommodation and backstage passes.
He said: "It's exciting times at the moment. My three best friends and I are going to live the dream for four days."
The Benicassim Festival takes place from July 19 to 22.
