Mauricio Pochettino will have to make changes to the team which won 3-2 in stunning fashion at Ajax on Wednesday night

Tottenham Hotspur will be missing several key players for the last Premier League match of the season at home to Everton on Sunday.

Spurs knew they would have to rotate their starting XI following Wednesday's dramatic 3-2 Champions League success against Ajax in Amsterdam.

Heung-min Son and Juan Foyth were already banned for the visit of Everton after receiving red cards during last Saturday's defeat at AFC Bournemouth.

The Lilywhites appealed the sending off of their South Korean star, but to no avail and he and Argentinian Foyth will serve the first of a three-game ban this weekend.

Vice-captain Harry Kane (ankle) and Harry Winks (groin) were also expected to miss out after suffering serious injuries last month.

Both England internationals have now begun on-field rehabilitation, however, and the club remain hopeful they will make the Champions League final against Liverpool on June 1.

Davinson Sanchez joined the aforementioned trio on the sidelines for the Ajax tie with a thigh injury and he remains absent for Sunday's game.

Tottenham's problems have been compounded by the fact Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama have suffered problems though.

Vertonghen was pictured leaving Amsterdam on crutches and in a protective boot and Spurs confirmed this afternoon he has an ankle injury.

As things stand there is no timescale on when the Belgian will return, but he will have the final in Madrid as a return date in mind.

On top of Vertonghen, Rose will be assessed before the weekend after being substituted against Ajax with a tight hamstring.

Wanyama was another replaced on Wednesday, with a thigh injury, and his fitness will be checked by the medical team ahead of Everton's trip to the capital.

It leaves Pochettino with a big predicament and the likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Oliver Skipp, Erik Lamela and Fernando Llorente may start on Sunday.
