A new supermarket opening in Hackney next month has created 41 new jobs for local residents.

A new supermarket opening in Hackney next month has created 41 new jobs for local residents.

Tesco recruited staff to work in the new stores in Dalston Lane, near the Hackney Down railway station and Hackney Road.

The supermarket has hired 19 new staff in the Dalston Lane branch, which opens on October 1, and 22 in Hackney Road which opens on September 21.

Dalston Store manager, Ranjeet Singh, said: “In this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create jobs and help get people back into work. I am really pleased with my new team and I’m looking forward to working with my new staff.”
