More than 20 studios across Hackney Wick and Fish Island will throw open their doors this weekend, to celebrate the thriving artistic community there.
It is part of the Hackney WickED Festival, which promises a year-long programme of events including exhibitions, films and open studios, instead of the usual weekend programme of festivities which has been customary for the last four years.
This was because Hackney and Tower Hamlets councils would not grant the 10 necessary licences to hold the event during the Olympic Games.
Open Studios takes place from Friday until Sunday September 23, along with a Film Festival at the Hackney Cut and other venues around the Wick.
