Top fashion designers in Hackney have created five unique Christmas trees dotted around the main shopping areas in the borough reflecting their own unique style.
Industry recognised names, James Long, Princess Julia, Lou Dalton and Craig Green were commissioned by Hackney Council to come up with the seasonal decorations for Stoke Newington, Dalston, Hackney Wick and Shoreditch.
Children from Morningside Primary School also helped “Make Hackney Sparkle” – the name given by the council for its festive line-up - by working with James Long to make hundreds of glittering snowflakes for a tree outside Hackney Town Hall in Mare Street.
Decorations include reflective high-vis objects to celebrate the cycling culture of Hackney, giant bows, shoes as baubles and more traditional themes like a giant star sitting atop one of the trees.
