Hugo Lloris, Ryan Mason, Roberto Soldado and Andros Townsend are injury doubts and are being assessed in today’s final training session as Tottenham gear up for tomorrow’s Premier League curtain-raiser against Manchester United.

Lloris fractured his wrist during his summer holiday and, although he played for the last 35 minutes of Wednesday’s Audi Cup clash against AC Milan in Munich, Pochettino is unsure whether to put him in the starting XI at Old Trafford.

Mason also returned from injury against Milan in midweek as a second-half substitute, while Soldado has a back problem and Townsend hurt his shoulder in a friendly match against Reading earlier in the pre-season programme.

“We need to assess some players,” said Pochettino at today’s press conference. “Hugo, Mason, Soldado and Andros Townsend have different problems. Today in the last training session we need to assess them and then take a decision.”
