There were dramatic scenes on Lower Clapton Road this afternoon after a car flipped over on to its roof following a collision.
The area around the overturned car has been sealed off by police, which has blocked traffic near the junction with Downs Road.
Two cars are believed to have been involved in the incident, and emergency crews are still working to turn the car over.
Police officers are directing traffic, but there is heavy congestion leading up to the Lea Bridge Roundabout and up to the Homerton High Street junction.
The London Ambulance Service is due to comment on whether there were any injuries shorly.
