Fire fighters cut a man out of the car he was trapped in, following a crash in Upper Clapton.
Emergency services were called to the accident involving three cars in Lea Bridge Road last Wednesday just before 10am, and the rescued man was taken to hospital 45 minutes later.
Two fire engines from Homerton and a fire rescue unit from Bethnal Green attended the scene.
A spokesman for the police said no arrests had been made.
